As data increases in size and complexity, the field of data visualization can benefit from interdisciplinary practices such as human computer interaction. As a UX Research Assistant at RDCEP, I was on an undergraduate team to build a tool that addresses usability and accessibility issues in data visualization. We began with the following problem statement:
